Test date transfers will be free for any IELTS test suspended due to COVID-19 regulations. In addition, the processing of refunds will take a longer time as our Al Sadd office is closed until further notice. Stay home and stay safe.
You may transfer to another available IELTS test date or cancel your test, if you inform us at least five weeks before the test date.
- For transfer there is an administration fee of 300 QAR. Transfers may only be made once.
- For cancellation a refund is given less an administration fee of 300 QAR.
Please note that refunds can take four to six weeks to process.
No refunds will be allowed for IELTS within five weeks of the test date. Exemptions from this policy are:
- serious illness or medical incident (such as hospital admission or a major injury)
- bereavement - loss of a close family member
- hardship or trauma (such as being a victim of crime or involved in a traffic accident)
- military service.
In the above cases a refund, minus 300 QAR administrative fees, will be granted. Evidence must be provided no later than five days after the test date.
No test day refund/transfer will be allowed if you have completed at least one component of the test. Furthermore, you will not receive a Test Report Form for partially completed tests.
To cancel your test date, please download and complete our Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form. You need to then submit a copy of the filled form to us by visiting British Council, 99 Al Sadd Street, PO Box 2992, Doha, Qatar. (Please note that you need to sign the form.) If an original medical certificate confirming illness on the date of the test is provided within five working days of the test date, together with the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form, the fee is refundable, minus an administration fee of the test fee.
Only original medical certificates in local language or English are accepted. If we have not received both required documents at our office in Doha by the fifth working day after the test, you will be marked as absent and forfeit all claims.
Copies sent by fax or email are not accepted. We recommend bringing the original reports in person along with the filled application form.
Please note that we do not accept sick notes issued by family members.
