Please read the below important information before following the registration process for private candidates:

Candidates registering for school exams have to be 18 years and above for the registration to be accepted and completed. This is solely in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The British Council will not be held responsible for registrations that do not comply with this condition and have the right to deny the registration of the applicant. If the payment has been completed, and the candidate has not submitted the required documents for eligibility, then an administrative fee of 25 % will be deducted from the total fee, before processing the refund due to non-compliance.

If the test taker is a minor, please visit the MOEHE Qatar (Ministry of Education and Higher Education) and request for permission to take school exams with British Council. MOEHE will provide an approval letter. You will have to submit this approval letter at the time of your registration. Applications without Ministry approval for minor candidates will not be processed.

Step 1: Complete your registration form

Candidates registering for school exams must be 18 years and above for the registration to be accepted and completed. This is in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar.

The British Council will not be held responsible for registrations that do not comply with this condition and retain the right to deny registration of the applicant. If the payment has been completed, without the submission of required documentation for eligibility, then a refund will be issued with a deduction of administrative fee of 25% of the total fee, due to non-compliance.

If you are a minor, you need to visit the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar to request for permission. The outcome of your request will be shared with you formally. You will then be able to register for the examinations. No application will be processed without the approval of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar.

To choose the examination board, Cambridge Assessment International Education, Pearson Edexcel or Oxford International AQA You will need to complete your registration form online through the School Exams Registration System. Please make sure you provide a valid e-mail ID and phone no. as all communications about your registration will be sent directly to your e-mail account automatically.

Step 2: Pay for your exams

You will find fees for all exams on the School Registration System.

Your registration will not be processed until you have paid for your exams.

You can pay via cash or credit-card by visiting the Customer Services at the British Council office, Al Sadd.

Penalty fees:

Each examination board has a normal registration stage for each exam session. You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can find more information about late registration penalty fees through the British Council office.

Step 3: Submit your registration form

When you visit the office to pay and complete your registration, please submit the following documents:

1. Three recent colour passport-size photographs. These must be identical and taken within the past three months.

2. A clear photocopy of your valid Qatar ID

3. Read and sign the Declaration form.

4. Your completed and signed registration form must be kept with you for records.

Step 4: Registration complete

You have successfully registered for school exams with the British Council.

You will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.

Download the withdrawal and refunds form if you wish to cancel a subject. For amendments please contact our British Council customer service team. Please note there will be service charge depending on the registration stage at the time of request for this service.
