Qatar UK Festival

Celebrating the creative, cultural, and educational ties between Qatar and the United Kingdom

Launched in partnership with the British Embassy as part of the legacy of the Qatar-UK 2013 Year of Culture, the Qatar-UK cultural Festival is the British Council’s celebration of the longstanding and evolving partnership between the United Kingdom and the State of Qatar. The festival brings together artists, institutions, and communities from both countries through a line-up of events in visual arts, music, fashion, and innovation. With a strong belief in the power of culture to build bridges, the festival brings to life a shared commitment to creativity and inclusive dialogue.

Since 2014, the festival has grown into a platform that not only showcases artistic excellence from both nations but also sparks collaboration across sectors, from arts and heritage to education, science, and technology. It is a space where emerging and established creatives come together.

Each edition of the Qatar UK Cultural Festival is uniquely themed to reflect contemporary concerns and future aspirations. Whether spotlighting sustainability in design or social inclusion through sports, the festival reflects the diversity of both societies. It supports cultural industries and contributes to long-term connections.

As part of the British Council’s wider mission to support cultural relations and educational opportunities, the Qatar UK Cultural Festival fosters a spirit of openness and creativity, making sure that culture remains a vibrant force for social impact and global cooperation.

‘’As the UK’s leading organisation for cultural relations, the British Council is proud to champion mutual understanding and collaboration between nations. The Qatar UK Festival is genuinely one of the most important events on the British Council Qatar’s calendar. an inspiring celebration of the long partnership between Qatar and the UK. This festival not only showcases the richness of UK culture but also opens doors for meaningful cultural exchange, particularly among artists and young people from both nations. Equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the heart of our global work whether in the arts, education, or sports.
