With nearly three decades of experience, Robert Tripolo is a skilled Electronic Engineer specializing in sales, marketing, and business development in the automotive sector. He has successfully launched businesses from the ground up, including establishing Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) as the new importer in Finland and Iceland. His extensive expertise also includes creating Fiat’s commercial department in India, where he spearheaded export operations and business growth.

Sahar has a BA in teaching, CELTA, DELTA. She has taught for 17 years in schools and at the British Council.

Sam joined the British Council Qatar as Director in September 2018. She has worked internationally in cultural relations with the British Council for over 20 years in Europe, the Americas, East Asia, South Asia and MENA working to share the best of UK’s education system whilst learning from others and developing links with the UK’s vibrant arts and cultural scene.

Sebastian Betancur

With a background in architecture, sculpture, and museum practice, Sebastián blends the sensibilities of a landscape architect, urbanist, and maker to create public art masterplans and interventions. As a curator, artist, and fabricator, he works across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the WANA region, focusing on mobility, global politics, and local ecologies.

Teresa Albor

Teresa Albor is a British-American artist, designer, entrepreneur, and activist, currently working across London, Doha, and Dhaka. A cultural producer, she supports the work of others, collaborates with change-makers, and leverages social enterprise to drive positive impact.

Tim Vyner

Tim Vyner

Tim Vyner graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1988 and continues to work in education as Professor of Illustration at Bath Spa University. He travels the world drawing life as he experiences it on the vibrant streets of our cities. He records global sporting events, documents diverse communities and tours public museums. He works for galleries, publishers, newspapers and private collectors and has covered World Cups, Olympic Games and busy national events.

Khalid Al-Ali

Advisor at the Minister Office, Minister of Education & Higher Education

Dr. Khalid Abdulla Al-Ali serves as a consultant to Qatar’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, drawing from a distinguished career in academia and policy. Formerly Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education, his leadership has spanned roles such as Associate Vice President at Qatar University and Chair of UNESCO's COMEST in Paris. His contributions to the fields of Genetics, Education, and Ethics are widely recognized, with numerous publications to his name.

Zoheb Khawaja

Head of Business Development & Country Lead – Exams

Zoheb joined the British Council in June 2013. He has previously worked in different industries in a business development and account management function. His current role is to provide leadership and strategic management to Qatar exams department. 

Amna Hamad Al-thani

This picture captured by Amna Hamas Al Tani shows a farm in Qatar called Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation that began growing crops in greenhouses to help the people in Qatar after the blockade. This helped Qatar become more self-sustainable by growing its own food, which became readily found in stores. Amna is a student at Doha English Speaking School (DESS), in year 4. She loves horse riding, photography, and playing tennis.
