You're Invited: Qatar Research Excellence Workshop
The British Council, Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council with the support of the British Embassy, are delighted to invite you to the Qatar Research Excellence Workshop, an initiative for Qatar’s research community.
This three-day training program is tailored for early to mid-career researchers across all disciplines, equipping you with the tools, skills, and mindset to excel in today’s dynamic international research landscape.
Through a series of high-impact sessions, you will engage with expert-led modules designed to strengthen your research capabilities and open new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Participants will explore modules focused on:
• Building effective academic collaborations
• Enhancing digital visibility and engagement
• Mastering academic writing and impactful proposal development
• Presenting with confidence and clarity
This workshop is ideal for researchers who:
• Are early or mid-career professionals
• Come from any research discipline
• Are committed to attending all three days
• Have English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Meet our professional trainer
Dr Matt Lane, Co-Director, The Researcher Development Partnership
Dr Matt is an international researcher developer, facilitator and consultant. From 2010-18, he was a Researcher Developer at the University of Cambridge, where in 2017, he was formally recognised for his ‘outstanding contribution’ to the development of early career researchers. Now a Director of The Researcher Development Partnership, Cambridge, and based on his own experiences of doing a PhD, his purpose is to help alleviate the stress of research and so specialises in researcher Wellbeing, Writing and Leadership development. He holds the CIPD’s Certificate in Learning & Development and practitioner accreditation in MBTI and Belbin Team Roles.
